How to Schedule Reels for Your Small Business

The Meta Business Suite was designed to help small businesses manage their connected Facebook and Instagram accounts in one place. Numerous tools in the Meta Business Suite allow small businesses to manage their digital marketing, and my favorite is the content scheduling tool. In this brief guide, I’ll review how to use the Meta Business Suite to schedule your Reels for Instagram and Facebook.

Navigate to the Meta Business Suite

To get to your Meta Business Suite, first, you need to ensure that you have a Facebook Business Manager account setup. If you do, you should be able to go to [www.business.facebook.com] and you will land in your business manager account. When you toggle to the menu (three lines stacked on each other) you should see a shortcut for the Meta Business Suite

Ensure you’re in the Content or Planner View

When you click on the shortcut to the Meta Business Suite, it will take you to the main page. However, to schedule Reels, you want to make sure that you’re in the “Content” or “Planner” view. In these sections, you will see a button titled “Create reel.” Click on this and you’ll be on your way to scheduling your reel.

Have your Media Ready

The audio selection, editing features, and text/caption options are very limited in the current Meta Business Suite. I recommend having your video and cover photo ready to upload, instead of using the editing features in the Meta Business Suite. You’re able to add a custom cover photo or choose a section of your video to use as the cover photo instead.

Schedule Your Reel

There are three steps before you can schedule your Reel: Create, Edit, Share. Once you click through each step, you’re able to schedule your Reel. I like to cross-post (post at the same time on Facebook and Instagram). However, you can choose if you only want to schedule to Instagram or Facebook. One thing to point out is that the Meta Business Suite only lets you schedule up to 30 days. You cannot post 5+ weeks in advance, unfortunately.

Review and Edit

When you want to review and edit your Reels, toggle back to the “Content” section. Here you can review any content, edit, or delete. Please note that you cannot edit anything once it posts. And if you are trying to edit minutes before a Reel is scheduled to go out, the system may not let you.
